Quicken Gives Error 1402 – Could not open key

The message Quicken Error 1402 - Could not open key may occur when attempting to install Quicken.

1. Restart your computer.
2. Sign in as a computer administrator.
3. Exit all running programs and close all browser windows, if applicable.
4. Temporarily turn off all anti-virus, anti-malware, firewall, desktop search and backup programs that may be running. If this step concerns you, you may first disconnect yourself from the internet first.
5. Attempt the Quicken installation again.
