Quicken Crashes While Printing Checks (Quicken 2015 Not Printing)

You may need to turn off printer spooling:

  1. In Quicken, select the File menu and select Printer Setup > For checks, reports or Invoices. (If the printer setup window does not open, information to resolve this issue is available on our support site.)

Convert Quicken 2014 Mac to Quicken 2015 Windows

  1. In the copy that was created of your file (Conversion Copy), select the File menu and select Export.
  2. Full Export will be selected in the Export Window. This option will convert all accounts, categories, and transactions to Quicken for Windows. If you want to export only part of your file, select the Custom Export option, and then specify what to include in the export.
    Note: In some versions of Quicken for Mac, the option to export online payees is available, but should not be selected because they cannot be imported into Quicken for Windows.
  3. Click the Export button.
  4. In the Save window, name the file Export (.QIF) and save it. For the file to be properly recognized when importing it into Quicken for Windows, it must contain the extension (.QIF) after the filename.
  5. Save the file to any removable media (CD, DVD, USB thumb drive, etc.).

Convert Quicken Mac Data File to Quicken for Windows

  1. Open your data file in Quicken Essentials for Mac.
  2. Choose File menu > Export > Export to QXF file.
  3. Save the .QXF file to media that will allow you to move it to your PC, such as a thumb drive or CD/DVD.
  4. Move the media (thumb drive CD/DVD) to your computer running Windows.
  5. Open Quicken for Windows.
  6. Choose File menu > New Quicken File.
  7. With a radio dial selected next to New Quicken File, click OK.
  8. Name your new data file and press OK.
  9. Choose File menu > Import and then select the .QXF file from your media.

Converting data from Quicken to QuickBooks

  • Method 1: Use the Quicken Converter Tool if your Quicken file is from 2011 or earlier.

You will need to use the Quicken Converter Tool to convert from a Quicken file that is from 2011 or earlier. This tool updates the Quicken file to the newer versions of Quicken that can then be imported into QuickBooks.

Important: Before running any of the toolsYou will need to uninstall any previous version of the Quicken Conversion Tool prior to installing a new version below.

  1. Launch the Quicken Converter and click Next.
  2. Read the License agreement, select I Accept the terms in the license agreement, and click Next.
  3. Click Next and then Install  to start the installation of the Quicken Converter.
  4. Select the Launch Quicken Converter and click Finish.
  5. Select I am transferring data from Quicken for Windows and click Get Started.
  • Method 2: Convert within QuickBooks if your Quicken file is the same year as QuickBooks 2012 or later.  Use this method if you have:
    1. Open QuickBooks.
    2. Choose the File menu > Utilities > Convert > and then select From Quicken.
    3. Select the Quicken .QDF file you want to convert. Note: If you have used the Quicken Conversion Tool you will see a folder on your desktop that contains the approriate QDF file to use. The folder will be named Q12Files orQ13Files.
    4. QuickBooks will guide you through the remainder of the conversion process.
    5. Note: If you get a message that says “It looks like you’re converting from an older version of Quicken. Before we convert your file, please use the Quicken Conversion Tool first.”, you will need to use theQuicken to QuickBooks Conversion Tool to convert the file to QuickBooks.
